Packaging Operator:

Purpose of the position

  • Producing Finished products according to preapproved instructions;
  • to ensure that products are produced and stored according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality;
  • to follow the instructions relating to production operations and to ensure their strict implementation;
  • Reviewing all production batch records and ensuring that these packaging processes are completed and signed;
  • Making sure that production facilities are clean and when appropriate disinfected;
  • Making sure that the necessary calibrations are performed and records kept;
  • Making sure that the premises and equipment are maintained.

  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Tend or operate machine that packages product.
  • Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
  • Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
  • Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
  • Sort, weigh and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight to meet specifications.
  • Clean and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as setting guides.
  • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly.
  • Stack finished packaged items, or wrap protective material around each item and pack the items in cartons or containers.
  • Start machine by engaging controls.
  • Count and record finished and rejected packaged items.
  • Package the product in the form in which it will be sent out, for example, filling containers with powder from a chute.
  • Supply materials to spindles, conveyors, hoppers, or other feeding devices and unload packaged product.
  • Attach identification labels to finished packaged items.
  • Clean packaging containers, line and pad crates, and/or assemble cartons to prepare for product packing.

  • Preparing, reviewing, approving and distributing the instructions for theproduction of intermediates
    or APIs according to written procedures;
  • Producing Finished products according to preapproved instructions;
  • to ensure that products are produced and stored according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality;
  • to follow the instructions relating to production operations and to ensure their strict implementation;
  • Reviewing all production batch records and ensuring that these packaging processes are completed and signed;
  • Making sure that all production deviations are reported and evaluated and that critical deviations are investigated and the conclusions are recorded;
  • Making sure that production facilities are clean and when appropriatedisinfected;
  • Making sure that the necessary calibrations are performed and recordskept;
  • Making sure that the premises and equipment are maintained andrecords kept;
  • Evaluating proposed changes in product, process or equipment; and making sure that new and, when appropriate, modified facilities andequipment are qualified.
